Where Italian Stables
Meet California Luxury
The name Stalloreggi — Italian for "King's Stables" — speaks to the regal vision that oil heiress Cynthia Wood brought to life in 1965. She laid out plans for an immaculate 25-acre equestrian estate along East Valley Road, building a 24-stall barn and dressage arena that shocked Montecito with their sheer grandeur: her horses lived more luxuriously than most people.
The estate passed through celebrated hands — including British comedian John Cleese, who kept the ranch alive with thoroughbreds, ponies, and a menagerie of exotic animals — before being acquired by telecommunications pioneer Craig McCaw in 2008.
2347 East Valley Road sits adjacent to the original Stalloreggi core, sharing its pasture views and equestrian heritage while offering a fully self-contained Spanish Revival luxury residence. Separate yet integral — within Stalloreggi's hallowed grounds.
